I have 2 German Shorthaired Pointers, Tana (6 yr old female) and Jag (3 yr old male). I absolutely love each one of them to death and am religious about exercising them and training them on wild birds. Following sprinkler season, we get in quite a bit of upland bird hunting. In September of last year Jag tore his ACL and had to have surgery, sidelining him for almost the entire season. I was crushed, as the news was hard to swallow. However, it allowed me a lot of time with Tana, like the way things used to be before Jag. In the above picture you can see that Tana hasn’t lost her skills, and is in her prime. She is an absolute joy to hunt with, and my steadiness when life gets stressful. This picture is from 1 day of hunting with 4 of us, and we shot well. Currently Jag is back to full strength and locking down Huns all over the place . . . it is so wonderful to have him back and himself again.
