Sometimes pipe fixes can be incredibly difficult. If you look closely, 4 x 1″ pipes were laid in the same trench, and another 1/2″ pipe was crossed with them too. On top of that, these pipes were engulfed in tree roots and rocks, making it incredibly difficult to excavate. Digging this hole took about an hour. It took so long because we didn’t want to damage the pipes that were not leaking, and we had to get around all of the roots and rocks. We sawed multiple roots out of the hole that were 3″+ in diameter! Anyway, a standard poly pipe fix can be seen in the middle (the cleanish black pipe). At Sprinkler Maniac, we never bury multiple pipes in the same trench. It’s bad business if/when something goes wrong. We always install pipes singularly so that if a repair is necessary, it can be done quickly, easily, and at a low cost to the homeowner.
